Muchas gracias, intentaré contestaros a tod@s.
Dime, que me hace ilu:
Un abrazo
Txus
Yesterday I asked you what would happen if we didn't have dopamine.
Since it seems bad because it is increased in addictions, let's take it out, don't you think?
The dog is dead and the rabies is gone.
Well, that's what James Olds and Peter Milner thought in 1954, scientists who wondered the same thing.
So they blocked the dopamine circuits in rats.
Do you know what happened?
They literally died of grief, they lost the will to live: they didn't eat, they didn't drink, they didn't have sexual activity... after a few days RIP.
When they were given sugar water, they felt the pleasure the substance gave them but they were not able to go and drink.
The high peaks of dopamine are secreted before the thing you want to do, it is the hormone of desire. When you do the action, you don't secrete as much. But without desire there is no action.
I would follow this scheme:
So what do you want me to tell you, it's going to be that I love my dopamine. It literally gives you the will to live. I was telling you yesterday that there is usually not much left over in the body.
I guess we simply must not let it dominate us and knowing it is a first step towards it.
I understand that just like cell phones and new technologies: they allow us, for example, this glorious relationship that you and I have: I tell you little things about science, I talk to you about Danio and the various things that come to my mind and you, wherever you are, read them, learn and have a few laughs.
It's cool, isn't it?
Without technology we could not have done it.
Whatsapp connects you with friends who are far away and you can't see every day, the cell phone allows you to reach any place in the world following a map, or listen to music or talk to loved ones...
Too much dopamine makes you addicted, but in its right measure it makes you want to live.
Well, I don't know, maybe instead of taking things away we should know them and use them in the right way.
I love your answers by the way, maybe it's a dopamine shot, I don't know, I would have to study it, but the fact is that it gives sense to all this to know that the message arrives.
Thank you very much, I will try to answer all of you.
Jaqueline, told me something that made me very excited:
Tomorrow I will be talking about this subject with those around me ....
Tell me, it makes me happy:
A hug
