Y eso he ido haciendo.
Mira:
¡Menuda jartá de reir!
Pero entonces paso.
¿Casualidad?
No creo.
Just wait.
Y justo esperamos y empezaron a aparecer danios.

I'll be honest with you.
When I started this trip I knew that seeing danio was going to be very difficult: he was not described in Thailand and after all he is a fish in the water and I am a human earthling.
But well, I thought, why not.
And if not, I have a newsletter topic for a while. The search for danio in Thailand was a very epic theme, matching the emotional intensity of this newsletter.
Arriving here and seeing the rivers, I realized that finding a danio was like looking for a fish in a cup of thick chocolate.
Optically impossible.
But I was going to have a good laugh taking pictures of myself pointing out every tiny puddle I could find in the country.
And that's what I've been doing.
Look at this:
What a load of laughs!
But then it happened.
Chance?
I don't think so.
Biar, one of the local guides we have on this trip, was very excited to show us her house and her garden. There she grows tropical fruits with her parents. She calls it her garden.
And when we were on a bridge, over a small stream of clear water, German, the photographer who organizes the expedition, asked Biar:
-Have you ever seen this fish?", showing her a photo of Danio rerio with her cell phone.
And she nodded with total naturalness, pointing with her finger to the stream just below us.
She looked attentively at my face at that moment:
And what do I have to do to see it?
Just wait.
And just wait and danios started to appear.
Along with other minnows, of course. Thai rivers don't only contract one species. That's the thing about ecosystems: plants, animals, water, land, they combine in perfect harmony.
I had not the slightest hope of finding Danio. But I did, right on the bridge, right in the river, just as I was passing by.
I have no scientific explanation to give you for that.
Is that chance or magic?
What do you think?
A hug
