It turns out that in Bologna, as well as mortadella and lots of delicious food, they have a monastery on top of a mountain called Santa Luca. The Bolognese say that as soon as they fly there and see the monastery lit up from the sky, they feel at home.
That's right.
Well, this monastery communicates with another place called Saragossa gate with 666 arches.
It's a cold and rainy city in winter and it's sunny in summer, so the arches are perfect for climbing up to the monastery without getting wet or scorched.
Each arch is exactly the same size.
That's me with my arms open 3 times:
OK, so it took me 45 seconds on the flat to go through an arch. Then the ride got steep as hell and that's where it took me, 1.25 minutes.
Question:
How long did it take us to get there, bearing in mind that about 30% of the walk is steep.
How far did we walk, more or less? Bearing in mind that I'm normal size, 5'5" and my outstretched arms are about normal for someone of my height.
Well, you've got a good maths, physics problem there...
If you put it into Google maps, you can see if the calculation matches.
If you add a bit of history of the city of Bologna, the geography and climate of Italy, the geometry of the arcades...
Well, look, you've got a learning situation that's very Bolognese and appetising.
A hug
María
PS, I'm writing this from the plane to Vietnam. Soon I will have my first impressions of the trip. For the moment I'll tell you that in the taxi to the airport they played the Indiana Jones soundtrack. This is promising.
Fui testigo de esa caminata!
