English version below
I'm going to pause my viral speech because I want to tell you about a video that has caught my attention.
It was made by Carlos Cenalmor, a psychiatrist whom I met because he is a client of my other project, Moresubscribers.
In this video, Carlos talks about attention. And, if I may be redundant, he has called my attention very powerfully.
Attention, dear subscriber, is, as Carlos says, probably our most precious asset (for me, along with time).
If we do not know how to focus it on what we are living or doing, a horrible thing will happen to us: we will not enjoy what is happening at that moment. That is fatal. And when we are working we are going to waste a lot of time that we could be doing things that are more enjoyable. Anyway, the subject is important.
What's wrong? We live in the age of distractions. Our brain is constantly exposed to a thousand stimuli, a thousand RRSS, a thousand whastap messages... Everyone fights for our attention because they know how important it is.
This creates a lot of discomfort for me. It's like a little cloud that stays in my head and I find it very difficult to get rid of. And with so many computers, even more so. That's why I actively look for things to compensate like doing pottery, exercise, talking to as many people as I can, live... Technology has brought me a lot of good in my life, but I need to compensate.
I advise you to watch Carlos' video. It is very clearly explained and I have learned a lot. Carlos also has a newsletter. I think he is a very good science communicator and he deserves our attention because we can learn a lot from him. His newsletter is here:
A big hug
María
PS. Tomorrow I will continue talking about viruses, since I had your attention ;)
