This newsletter is written in English and Spanish. You can find the English version below.
Txus
My husband is a doctor. I'm beginning to think he's a good doctor because people come from all over the world to learn from him. If your pancreas, a strange yellow organ in our belly, breaks down, I would get it checked out by him if I were you. He has his own newsletter of course.
I love this. Because it allows me to meet people from all over the world, and in this way, we have made very good friends (a big hug to all those I tricked into subscribing to this newsletter). And so we have learned a lot and enjoyed it a lot. When they come we take them to eat and to see beautiful things in Alicante.
But yesterday was very special. A lovely doctor from the USA came with his partner, a beautiful teacher from a school that I understood was as close as possible to paradise, with a farm included. You will understand my enthusiasm.
I told him I had an educational project to teach science to children and asked him what he taught. He was now in management, but his last subject was called something like Creativity.
They took the contents that were given in the different subjects. They had to make art: plays, models, compositions, drawings using all the disciplines they had learned... They were the ones who were deciding and guided by their teachers.
Of course, hearing that made my heart skip a beat: was it possible that I was talking to someone from the other side of the world who was doing things so similar to what I was trying to do with each project? Didn't it seem like magic?
So I took out my cell phone and started to show him crazy pictures of all the things I was photographing with my microscopes and how I was generating educational material so that from each something seen, you could learn and stimulate your curiosity.
Have a look at the photos in this post, on what I teach you to see in the projects. Tell me if this is not art.
Here's a good idea if you're wondering what to do with an interdisciplinary project course. Take everything they've given you and turn it into art.
I am in the process of translating all the didactic material into English and it will be available very soon. I understand your impatience to see it. I will let you know here.
A hug
María
