Good evening, Txus
I bought this learning situation some time ago, which I am starting to practice with my students this term. And I must say that they love it and I'm really enjoying it!
I may ask you questions that may arise, so I may have to write you again.
Thanks
The other day, I received this email from a buyer of HAZ TU PROPIO MICROSCOPIO, and it says many exciting things that I want to highlight:
The students love it. The teachers love it, too. It's not that I say it because I want to sell it, which I do too. It's just that it's really cool. I have not done it in class because I am not a teacher (I am a scientist). But I have done it in parent-child workshops several times, and the surprised faces and screams of surprise of both were beautiful. Look at this remix of photos of a workshop I did in my town library and tell me who liked it more.
If you have any doubts, ask me anything you want.
Good morning, María Jesús
I'm Sara, a teacher in a rural school on the outskirts of Zaragoza.
We already did the microscope course with families and our third and fourth-grade students. We have had a lot of fun! And we have very nice pictures, but we miss some aspects of biology (what we see concretely, which I don't know how to explain to my students). So, if I have any doubts, I will email you the photo and what we see so that you can explain biologically what we see.
You see, I only have a little idea/knowledge of science because I certainly didn't have inspiring teachers in science. In fact, I didn't like to give science to my students because even I, at my age, didn't understand science... and therefore, I have never liked to teach something that even I didn't understand.
>Thank you very, very, very much for amazing me daily.
And from this email from Sara, I would like to highlight the following:
Unfortunately, as Sara says, most of the children did not have inspirational teachers in science; I am sure that in most cases, this is due to lack of knowledge rather than desire.
But Sara has been willing and able to break this vicious circle and has had a lot of fun with parents and students.
Who has doubts? Of course, and who doesn't? Who misses things? Of course, and me.
But what about what they have enjoyed?
What do you think these children will remember tomorrow? When they opened the book to page 25, or when Sara made them a microscope and they saw a little feather of a bird?
Congratulations Sara.
You, too, can break this vicious circle and do the same as Sara.
