El domingo estuve comiendo con Ana y su familia en Madrid.
Ana es de esas amigas que da igual el tiempo que haga que no las veas que es como si las hubieras visto ayer. Cuando tengo esa sensación con alguien sé automáticamente que es un amig@ de verdad, de los que merece la pena conservar para siempre.
El caso es que Ana tiene un hijo y una hija precios@s y cariñosísim@s de 9 y 11 años. En el coche la niña le pidió el móvil. Se aburría con nuestra interesantísima conversación de repaso pormenorizado de todas nuestras amistades comunes.
Al acabar la comida el niño le pidió jugar a la play.
En su casa regulan el tiempo de pantallas con una aplicación. Le puso un tiempo, y se los dejó. La negociación del tiempo fue dura.
En la cara de Ana se notaba lo que tenemos todos.
Una enorme preocupación por qué le va a hacer esa adición a las pantallas al frágil cerebro en formación de sus niñ@s. Yo cada vez que veo a mis sobrinas pequeñas con el ipad o el móvil pienso lo mismo.
Van a vivir en una sociedad gobernada por pantallas, así que tendrán que aprender a manejarlas, porque en su mundo es una herramienta más, pero ¿cuál será el precio? ¿Cómo hacer un buen uso de ellas?
Es una durísima competencia por cualquier otro foco de interés que puedan tener.
A la niña le gustaban mucho los animales.

¿Cuál es tu animal favorito, Sara?
El perro.
Ana no quiere tener perros ni le apasionan los animales, pero cuando le hablé del Club Danio, la membresía de la que te hablé ayer, se le abrieron los ojos. Además de tener acceso a todos los recursos que he ido generando durante estos casi 8 años, cada mes hablaremos de una animal.
De cosas flipantes sobre ell@s. Eso que a Sara le llama tanto la atención y que no hay una buena forma de canalizarlo.
¿Habrá perros?
Por supuesto.
Al 99,9% de los niños del mundo les flipan los animales. Es un foco de interés natural para ellos desaprovechadísimo.
Pero sin embargo, no es fácil encontrar buenos materiales infantiles sobre ciencia y animales. El Club es un buen material en sí, pero también te enviaré información para localizarlos. Yo los busco con avidez.
Aprenderá y le daremos un hilito del que podrá ir tirando ella misma.
Sara podrá también hacer sus dibujos, cuentos, redacciónes… y compartirlos en el club con otros niños.
Yo me inspiro en los dibujos de los niños para hacer mis cuentos, mis vídeos…
Eso les motiva una barbaridad. Se sienten artistas, les refuerza la autoestima.
Así, que Ana fue uniendo hilos y me dijo:
-Mariaje, tengo que meter yo a mis hij@s en esos proyectos que haces tú.

On Sunday I had lunch with Ana and her family in Madrid.
Ana is one of those friends that no matter how long it's been since you've seen them, it's as if you saw them yesterday. When I have that feeling with someone I automatically know that they are a true friend, the kind worth keeping forever.
The fact is that Ana has a beautiful and very affectionate son and daughter, 9 and 11 years old. In the car the girl asked for her cell phone. She was bored with our very interesting conversation of detailed review of all our common friendships.
At the end of the meal, the boy asked her to play the game.
In his house they regulate the screen time with an application. She set a time, and left it to him. The time negotiation was tough.
Ana's face showed what we all have. A huge concern for what this addition to screens is going to do to her children's fragile, forming brains. Every time I see my little nieces with an ipad or cell phone I think the same thing.
They are going to live in a society ruled by screens, so they will have to learn how to handle them, because in their world it is just another tool, but what will be the price? How to make good use of them? It is a tough competition for any other focus of interest they may have.
The girl was very fond of animals.

Ana doesn't want to have dogs nor is she passionate about animals, but when I told her about Club Danio, the membership I told you about yesterday, her eyes were opened. Besides having access to all the resources that I have been generating during these almost 8 years, every month we will talk about an animal.
Amazing things about them. That thing that Sara finds so interesting and that there is no good way to channel it.
Will there be dogs?
Of course there will be.
99.9% of the children in the world are crazy about animals. It's a natural focus of interest for them that is sorely missed.
But nevertheless, it is not easy to find good children's materials on science and animals. The Club is good material in itself, but I will also send you information on how to locate them. I avidly search for them.
She'll learn and we'll give her a little yarn to pull on herself.
Sara will also be able to make her own drawings, stories, essays... and share them in the club with other children.
I'm inspired by the children's drawings to make my stories, my videos....
It motivates them immensely. They feel like artists, it boosts their self-esteem.
