One of the things I like most in this life is traveling.
I love discovering new places, different people, having that feeling of walking through a place I've never been before.
But, over the years I have become more demanding and I am looking for more and more not to be comfortable, but for the experiences to be authentic, not to stay in the 4 most touristic places of a country but to try to really live it.
I remember once we went on a family trip and rented a villa in Tuscany. Wonderful. We took a car and drove around the surrounding villages. Beautiful.
But what I liked the most without a doubt was that the owners of the villa invited us to dinner. They liked us, they didn't do that with everyone.
It was an Italian family dinner and they were making pizzas in an oven. Being at that dinner, listening to the laughter of an Italian family and laughing with them was a brutal experience. There I discovered that they make sweet pizzas for dessert and I still remember the taste of the strawberry and chocolate pizza.
So whenever I can I try to repeat that kind of experience. And the best thing is to go with someone local. A friend who will show you their land with love, introduce you to their friends and family and take you to their favorite places.
But of course, I am not lucky enough to have friends all over the world.
That's why when I saw for the first time the project of Germán from Fotomundos, which I have already told you about, I loved it.
Germán has been traveling around Asia for many years, camera in hand, and he knows it very, very well. And he organizes trips with exactly that philosophy.
That you can live authentic experiences. That you mingle with the people, that you spend time talking to them and understand them... He takes you to see incredible things, but not what you would find in a forum, but much more. And on top of that he teaches you how to take photos where you really capture the essence of what you are seeing.
He has one place left on this trip to Vietnam, the country where he lives.
The itinerary is not to be missed, Vietnamese jungle, remote villages that you can only reach on foot, sleeping on private boats in dreamy bays... in short, he claims that it can be the best trip of your life.
Bold claim. But hey, maybe he's right. Take a look at it:
A hug
