English version below
Txus
PD: cuidadito con el vino de California. También da una resaca que no veas.
We continued our trip, and yesterday, after a good walk around NYC, we decided to go to a quiet restaurant in Greenwich for dinner. We decided to try a white wine from California. It was tasty, but it was very sticky, and it was also more tongue-lashing than usual.
My husband dared to tell me something that he had never confessed to me before and that, frankly, I had not expected.
-I must confess that when I saw you so enthusiastic about the new educational law, I thought it was nonsense that such a system couldn't work.
-Why? If that's how you learn in life... I learn in my daily life through projects, and so do you. Why won't it work with children?
-Well, because I thought they would be fooling around and they would stop giving what they had to offer. But of course, when I saw Evan's school, I understood that if a 17-year-old kid is able to make a plane that flies, then the method works. There's little to discuss there.
-Of course, man. Another thing is that the teachers have to learn and use different materials than they are used to.
It's like a new surgical technique. The technique can work super well, but the surgeon who does it must learn how it works. If he applies it badly and the result is not good, it will not be because the technique could be better but because he did not learn it or apply it skillfully.
-And do you think that in Spain we are prepared for this?
-Well, we'll have to learn. But man, the world is changing by leaps and bounds. All the knowledge is in the rectangular device you carry in your pocket. What you have to learn is how to use it.
The materials I make are aimed at just that. They are ways in which teachers can document, inspire, and collect materials... to teach by projects "without skipping" what needs to be prepared. That's why I make some adorable little boards with what corresponds to each thing.
I discuss these projects if you are curious and want to learn how to make "new surgeries."
I am talking about the embryonic development of Danio rerio, the zebrafish, and silkworms and how an aquarium can help you understand what an ecosystem is. If you are interested in the English version about them, just let me know.
A hug
María
