We agreed that after the internship in Barcelona with Juanillo, he would send me an email.
It was an email in which he attached some articles in which some experiences were published that were made in the USA with zebrafish in schools.
They stayed in the inbox for a long time, and one day, I don't know why, I lay down in my hammock, and I said, well, I'm going to see what this is about.
Soon after I started reading, I got up and sat in the chair.
That was too good.
It was a program that some of the best universities in the USA were doing to motivate kids in science. And they said they were going crazy, that they loved it.
It sounded like it was true, and it was fascinating.
With my three young children, I was eager to find things that would motivate them. I knew what that magical look of I've discovered something new that I love that a child has.
And these people managed to associate it with science.
How cool.
If that was true, I had to do it.
So I went to my Institute director and told him: I want to do this here. He was fine with it and let me do it.
I had an idea, the OK from my high school and I was missing a school....
So I went to talk to my neighbor Monica Benavent.
